CHEST successfully conducted an assessment of HIV prevalence and risk behaviours among the prison population in Zimbabwe in 2011. The survey was commissioned by the Zimbabwe Prison Services (ZPS) with technical and financial support from the United Nations office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) and the National AIDS Council (NAC).

Study Objectives included;

2.   To provide  baseline  information  to  inform  policy,  advocacy  and  refinement  to  national strategies as well as program planning for the prison population.
3.   To determine availability and accessibility of services for HIV and AIDS prevention, care and treatment in prison settings and document service delivery gaps for comprehensive  HIV and AIDS prevention, care and treatment.
